Creator of AMC’s Comic Book Men, writer, comedian, podcaster, and film director, KEVIN SMITH has written and directed numerous films, including Clerks, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, Red State & Tusk. Don’t miss the chance to get up close and personal with the comics enthusiast and man who brought the world these films. He can be heard daily at Smodcast.com, a vast network of podcasts. This event features adult content and explicit language. Over 18 suggested.
An Evening with Kevin Smith: The Art of Comics is presented by the Greater Denton Arts Council in conjunction with the exhibition Heroes in the Making: The Art of Comic Production. The exhibition is on view at the Patterson-Appleton Arts Center in historic downtown Denton September 16 - December 10, 2016.

Celebrate the arts ALL NIGHT with the Greater Denton Arts Council! Dance the night away with Brave Combo and Jessie Frye and enjoy performances in the galleries, artist demos, family art activities, flashlight tours, films, storytelling, karaoke, food trucks, and much more!

Since 1974, the annual Community Arts Recognition Award (CARA) honors those who have significantly enhanced the cultural life and status of Denton through outstanding achievement in the field of fine arts or for service to the arts in the community.

ALL STAR KARAOKE
Support the arts and hear your favorite Denton stars sing karaoke! Join us as Eric Pulido hosts an evening of All Star Karaoke at Dan's Silverleaf. After 10:00 PM, make a donation and take the stage with karaoke provided by DJ Mark Ridlen. All proceeds benefit the Greater Denton Arts Council and the arts of Denton.
