On the Use of AI at GDAC

The Greater Denton Arts Council is committed to supporting and celebrating human creativity. GDAC does not accept, distribute, or use artwork, marketing materials, graphics, or other visual content created wholly or substantially through generative AI.

We recognize that technology has long played an important role in artistic and design practices. This policy is not intended to exclude digital art, photography, video, new media, graphic design, or work created using digital editing and design tools. The distinction is between technology used as a tool by a human creator and generative AI used to produce the primary creative or visual content.

As an organization dedicated to supporting artists and creatives, GDAC believes our exhibitions, programs, and communications should prioritize human creativity, skill, and authorship. All GDAC contracts with artists will include a clause expressly forbidding the inclusion of such works into GDAC exhibitions and programs.
