The state of Texas is filled with innovative young artists, from students at the local high schools and universities, to the self-taught baddies at home.

This exhibition showcases 30 artists that are 30 years old or younger who explore the inventions and innovations of contemporary art.

Currently for artists under the age of 30 and artists over the age of 60

An exhibition that brings together 50 artworks made by artists from various generations.

This exhibition is meant to visually explore and create conversation around the interconnected ideas, moods, and materials shared between people from differing generations.

Generations are often seen in opposition to one another, however the social and economic issues we face are more related than first glance.

International Contemporary Craft Competition & Exhibition

This exhibition celebrates the fine-art qualities of craft materials such as ceramic, fiber, wood, glass, metal and mixed-media in a contemporary competition exhibition.

Each year, approximately 70 works are selected for exhibition, and then ‘best in show’ and ‘best media’ categories are judged to win cash prizes by esteemed jurors at the Patterson-Appleton Arts Center.

Recognized as one of the premier craft exhibitions in the country, Materials: Hard + Soft began in 1987 and was originally initiated by area artist Georgia Leach Gough.
