Knit for Food Knit-a-thon

  • Patterson Appleton Arts Center 400 East Hickory Street Denton, TX, 76201 United States (map)

Join Team Denton on Saturday, April 5 for a Knit-a-Thon benefiting Knit for Food!

What is Knit for Food? It is a 12-hour knitting marathon to raise funds and awareness for food insecurity. 100% of funds raised will be equally divided between Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, No Kid Hungry, and Meals on Wheels.

There are several ways to support the Knit-a-thon:

You do not have to fundraise to participate. But those who do fundraise will be eligible to participate in some giveaways. You do not have to be a knitter to participate. All crafters all welcome!

Can't meet us with us? You can still participate by stitching wherever you may be that day and/or donating.

Knit for Food was founded by knitwear designer Laura Nelkin and was inspired by her daughter's AmeriCorps position at their local food bank during the pandemic summer of 2020. Knit for Food is run by a small but mighty team of volunteers who put their all into ensuring the success of this fundraiser year after year!

For more information about Knit-a-thon and other locations where the group will be working in the afternoon and evening, check out the event on Facebook or on Shelly’s website.
