Artist Statement:
My paintings explore psychological themes and struggles that can come to life while becoming an adult. Day to day questions like Who am I? Who am I supposed to be? What? Why? How? Where? When? And the lack of self identity and distortion of reality like derealization and depersonalization.
The inspiration behind my work comes from personal experiences and autobiographical moments. This painting approaches themes like eating disorders, but also the idea of self harm with unhealthy habits when trying to overcome anxiety, depression and overthinking, metaphorically and literally eating your emotions away.
