Arianna Crawford
Sleepy Hollow, 2026
Video, sculpture
This work is a 2D animation projected into a frame sculpture. It is meant to emulate an old, somewhat spooky painting you'd find in a haunted mansion. Depicting the Headless Horseman, I wanted to incorporate the themes of "vintage Halloween" and "time capsule" with a character most would recognize. I was inspired by the idea of paintings coming to life or watching you that is present in a lot of popular media. Having a live scene of him traveling through a creepy forest that loops endlessly, as if he is stuck in time within the frame.
