Come celebrate where art meets the road as local art car artists and visiting “cartists” from Houston bring their one-of-a-kind creations to Denton. The evening begins with an Art Car Drive around the Downtown Denton Square, followed by a celebration back at GDAC featuring live music by Raised Right Men, a cash bar provided by Union Bear, and the chance to meet the artists and see their incredible art cars up close.
Want to make some art of your own? Help us transform a Community Art Car or add your creativity to our graffiti painting area. Spray paint, gloves, and masks will be provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own supplies.
Local artist Daren Fagan has transformed reclaimed automotive parts into 11 inventive, one-of-a-kind sculptural trophies for this year’s Arts & Autos. Featuring dynamic and whimsical assemblage works, Fagan breathes new life into engine crankshafts, gears, and mechanical components, converting raw steel and chrome into striking figurative and geometric art. Visitors can view these exceptional pieces in Festival Hall starting September 8 until they take center stage as part of the Art Car Alley on September 11. On Saturday, the sculptures will be awarded to the winners of the Arts & Autos car show. Be sure to stop by and admire Fagan’s craftsmanship up close before these unique awards hit the road!
