Steel, textiles, LED light, electrical components
Constructed from a welded, intuitively formed steel skeleton, nylon and fabric are stretched, sewn and knotted around the structure. An internal flickering light shines through the textiles.
Halloween as a child felt both magical and scary. Flicker explores the uncertainty of childhood memories and the way they fragment over time. The flickering light creates a familiar glow within an unusual form, showing how nostalgia can ache and sooth simultaneously.
About:
Jordan Mundhenk will graduate from the University of North Texas in December with a degree in journalism and a minor in sculpture. She enjoys working with metal, found materials and writing to explore her identity. She was featured in UNT’s Fall 2025 Emergence Exhibition. She currently works as a design editor, education director and gallery attendant.
