Still Awake, 2025

Through my art, I aim to push the boundaries of technology, both old and new, with pieces that connect with the common feelings and thoughts people experience in their daily lives. I want work that is relatable to some degree, that also feels uniquely my own. Through audio and visuals, I aim to engage the audience's multiple senses, providing them with multiple ways to truly connect with the work. Visuals can be in the form of 3D modeling, coding, filmmaking and editing, Photoshop, and other Adobe Create suite tools, as well as more analog methods. This is why I also enjoy making my works have physical aspects as well. I’ve also been interested in printmaking and more physical sculptural works as well, and I would like to find ways to converge these different methods to develop a new form of art.

About:

Growing up in a small town in Texas, Justynne often tried to expand beyond the narrow walls surrounding her. Early on, she had a deep passion for animation that has since spread to more visual video and audio artworks. She believed UNT would be the best place for opening herself up to diversity. She also found herself interested in further developing techniques surrounding the evolving technology, which is where she found New Media Art as an outlet. Additionally, she expanded her skills and opportunities through the addition of minors in computer science and art history. Through computer science, she hoped to learn more about our current technology and coding skills that could be further pushed in the art realm. The art history background has shown her the past and present of art that she hopes to use to develop new creations in the future.
