Is it Fossible?, 2026

Mixed media

To play on the “back in time” theme, I decided to depict a diatryma—a large prehistoric bird—head coming from a portal on the wall. The artwork explores how we understand and view the past through the fossils that were left behind. The skeletal remains of the creature serve as the main focal point, while the outer “shell” allows the skeletal form to cast a shadow against it. The portal acts as the main source of light and adds some humor with the implication of time travel.
