Mik LeePow
Pool Party, 2026
Mixed media
For this piece, I wanted to express the child like fear of the deep end of a pool, what could be lurking in the unknown, through a whimsical yet uncanny portrait of a fish monster lurking in a kiddy pool.

Mik Leepow is a surrealist sculptor major with a minor in art history. Their art explores the complex and often contradictory relationships we have with each other and the world around us, using irony and surrealism as tools to challenge conventional norms. They create pieces that evoke both humor and absurdity while simultaneously addressing darker or more provocative themes, existing as both a personal exploration and a communal conversation, where the boundaries between reality and dream, humor and darkness, remain in constant flux.
