2024 Micro-Grant Awardee Jordan Fuchs Presents “Configure”, a Performance Installation - May 22, 2025
Blurring the lines between dance and installation art, this original performance directed and choreographed by Jordan Fuchs, Head of TWU’s Dance Division, challenged viewers’ conceptions of the body as architecture with ten pairs of dancers subtly shifting between poses, stillness and movement. The dancers became living sculptures for the duration of the performance. Rather than sitting still themselves, the audience was encouraged to come and go as they pleased and view the dance from different angles.
Local artist Leoncarlo Canlas provided live musical instrumentation, simultaneously manning the piano, percussion, and violin.
Thank you to Jordan Fuchs, Leoncarlo, and all of the dancers for treating us to an original and contemporary performance that pushed the boundaries of modern dance. To see a complete list of the dancers, click here for the Configure program.
This performance was supported by a 2024 GDAC Artist Microgrant. We encourage local artists of all backgrounds and disciplines to apply and see their projects come to life, just like Configure. The possibilities are endless as your imagination!
