Frightening First Friday: Ghostbusters! - Oct. 4, 2024
A brave group of North Texas Ghostbusters clad in jumpsuits with Proton Packs slung over their shoulders swept through Festival Hall with beeping sensors and readers on the hunt for paranormal activity before disappearing behind the door to the GDAC staff offices. Shouts erupted as the door rattled and shook, the window blinds clattering. A lone Ghostbuster shoves his head through the door, waving an arm and assuring the audience everything was under control as noises of supernatural chaos swirl behind him. The door slams shut again as he’s pulled back into the fight.
Everything goes silent. Seconds tick by. Our administrative assistant wonders aloud if they’re okay back there, it’s gone awfully quiet. . . Finally, the Ghostbusters emerge triumphant—the ghost is captured!
If you missed out on our Frightening First Friday Ghostbusters movie night, you can rest assured that the PAAC is now a little less haunted that it was before. We are so thankful to the North Texas Ghostbusters for putting on an incredible evening with us, interacting with the wonderful crowd, and doing their part to make Denton the Halloween capitol of Texas. The prize for best costumes, as chosen by the Ghostbuster’s themselves, went to a pair dressed as the Gate Keeper and Slimer the ghost!
We also extends our thanks to Chestnut Tree Bistro and Denton County Brewing Company for suppling delicious food and drinks including pizza skulls, mummy-dogs, and Ecto Juice, the Brewing Co.’s latest concoction just in time for Halloween. If you didn’t have the chance to sample the Bistro or Brewing Co.’s menus, you can stop by their locations on the Square any time!
