Summer Art Camp Registration Now Open!

Registration is now open to the public for GDAC’s five amazing weeks of summer art camps in June and July! Local artists, DISD art teachers, and some returning instructors from our 2024 summer art camps will guide students through the fundamentals of art in drawing, painting, and sculpture. Each camp week has its own unique theme through which students will explore the arts and develop new skills while exercising their creative thinking and problem solving abilities.

Week one’s Food Art Frenzy camp will have students dreaming up desserts to sculpt and draw still-lifes. They will also be exploring how artists like Guiseppe Arcimboldo and Andy Warhol incorporated food into their unique styles. The Bird, Blossoms, & Bugs camp will using art to study our natural environment and learn about the various bird and bug species around us. The fourth week of camps, Into the Miniverse, will teach students all about the craft of making miniatures as they design and create mini architecture and even comic books! The Dance & Movement and Music weeks will show students how we make art from sound and body movement, both culminating in recitals to show families what they learned.

For more information about each week and to register, see our summer camp webpage! Class schedules and instructors will be uploaded on our website soon.
