Another Open Call For Art! - Generations in COnversations, 2025
Back again for 2025 is the GDAC signature show, Generations in Conversation, featuring artwork from artists 30 years of age and younger alongside work from artists 60 years of age and older.
This exhibition is centered around cross-generational influences and conversations impacting people whose formative years were shaped by different moments in time. It is not meant to be a competition, rather a means of bridging the gap between two age groups often seen in opposition to another. We intend for the selected artworks to foster a dialogue about shared and differing experiences that may help to build a new level of understanding between the generations represented in the exhibit.
The show will explore changes in technique, media usage, social, environmental, and technological influences over time, as well as how artists representative of two different periods are inspired in their work.
This year we have chosen to identify 5 overall themes for artists to submit under. The themes are:
Shape-Shifting Media
Macro & Microcosms
Queer Identity & Social Justice
The Psyche & Subconscious
Social Roles & Expectations
Generations in Conversation opens July 19th and runs until September 20th, 2025. Submissions close on June 22 by 11:59 PM.
