About:
My name is Aidan and I'm a visual artist working predominantly in oil painting. In my work, I engage most with the unnoticed, mundane persons, places and objects as subject matter. I feel most at home with these unseen things, which I view as equally worthy of viewer interest as a Renaissance sculpture, a Modernist masterpiece or any other thing of wide spread, historical appeal. I believe my devotion to these neglected subjects questions art's historical exclusion of marginalized groups. Through placing value on the mundane by painting it, I seek to welcome others like myself into the art world, showing to them that anything is worthy of visual representation.
