About:

Christina Vasquez was born in Dallas, Texas, and now lives in Denton, Texas, where she attends the University of North Texas, pursuing a bachelor's degree in Sculpture. Her artistic practice explores the intersection of the ordinary and the extravagant, using unconventional materials to challenge expectations. Through clay, paper, fabric, and foam, Christina creates work that engages both the visual and tactile senses, pushing the boundaries of traditional sculpture. She is committed to using cost-effective materials, emphasizing that the value of art is not tied to the expense of its components. By doing so, she questions the assumption that luxury equals quality, creating pieces that speak to a more inclusive, accessible vision of art. Her approach blends experimentation with thoughtful commentary, blurring the lines between conventional techniques and bold innovation, all while ensuring her work remains approachable and thought-provoking for a wide range of viewers.
