Just a Little Taste, 2024

LED neon, steel

The artwork is a neon LED installation shaped like a bold, stylized mouth with full lips, outlined in bright red neon lights. The mouth is slightly open, exuding a playful and seductive vibe. Emerging from the mouth is a 20-foot-long LED tongue that changes colors as people speak and interact around it. This piece encourages viewers to explore the boundary between pleasure and absurdity, creating an immersive experience that demands attention, while also inviting reflection on the body's role in communication, intimacy, and self-expression.

About:

My art is a reflection of my journey of self-discovery, particularly my experience of coming to terms with my bisexual identity. This realization, which unfolded during my college years, has deeply influenced my creative process, driving me to explore themes that resonate with my life. Iā€™m passionate about addressing the gaps in sex education, especially within the queer community, and shedding light on the dynamics of polyamorous relationships. Through my work, I aim to educate and challenge conventional views, offering insights into the complexities of these experiences. The themes I delve into are often rooted in my own identity and the shared stories of my peers. My art serves as a platform for dialogue, encouraging viewers to consider the diverse ways people connect and relate to one another. Through this, I hope to foster greater understanding and acceptance of different relationship dynamics.
